Who you are contracting with
Profile Audit is operated by Aidan Koetaan, trading as Profile Audit, a South African sole proprietorship based in Bloemfontein, Free State, South Africa. "We", "us" and "our" in these terms mean that business. "You" means the person using the site or paying for a report.
You can reach us at hello@setout.co.za. We answer every message within two business days.
By creating an account, running an audit or paying for anything on profileaudit.co.za, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.
What Profile Audit is
Profile Audit reads the text of a LinkedIn profile, or a CV and a job advert you paste in, and returns a written assessment: scores across six dimensions, ranked problems, and suggested rewrites. There are four options.

Free and paid usage limits are shown on the pricing page and in your account. We may change those limits, and will say so on the pricing page before a change takes effect for you.
What Profile Audit is not
Profile Audit is a writing and positioning tool. It is not a recruitment agency, a career counselling service, an employment placement service or a guarantee of any outcome.
We do not promise you interviews, offers, a higher score, a callback, or that any recruiter will read your profile at all. Scores are our own assessment of how a profile reads. They are not an industry standard and no employer is bound by them.
The tool works from what you give it. It does not verify your qualifications, employment history or claims, and it does not invent facts to fill gaps — where something is missing it says so and leaves a placeholder. Everything it produces is a draft for you to check, edit and take responsibility for before you publish or send it. What you put your name to is yours.
Your account
- You need a verified email address for the AI tiers. You may sign in with a password or with Google.
- Keep your login details to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
- One account per person. Accounts are not shared or transferred.
- Tell us promptly at hello@setout.co.za if you think someone else has got into your account.
- You may close your account at any time by emailing us.
What you may not do
- Submit a profile, CV or personal information belonging to someone else without their agreement.
- Scrape, resell, sublicense or republish our reports, prompts or output as your own product or service, or use them to train a competing model.
- Use automated means to run audits in bulk, or work around usage limits.
- Upload anything unlawful, or anything that would put us in breach of the law.
We may suspend or close an account that does these things. Where we close a paid account for this reason we refund the unused part of the current subscription month.
Prices and payment
All prices are in South African Rand and are shown on the pricing page. We are not VAT-registered, so the price shown is the price you pay and no VAT is added.
Payment is processed by PayFast, which accepts card, Instant EFT and SnapScan. We never see or store your card number. Your payment is also subject to PayFast's own terms with you.
The Pro subscription bills R199 every month from the date you subscribe, and keeps billing until you cancel. Cancelling is set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy. If we change the subscription price we will email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.
Delivery
The free audit runs on screen within seconds. The expert report is generated after payment clears and appears in your account, normally within a few minutes; we also email you when it is ready. Pro tools are available in your account for as long as the subscription is active.
If a report does not arrive within 30 minutes of payment, email us and we will either deliver it or refund it.
Artificial intelligence
Every audit, free and paid, sends your profile or CV text to Anthropic's Claude models for analysis. This means text you paste leaves South Africa and is processed abroad. How that works, what we keep, and your rights over it are set out in the Privacy Policy.
AI output varies. Two runs on the same profile may not produce identical wording. Occasionally a model produces something inaccurate or unhelpful. That is a known limit of the technology, not a defect in the service, and it is why every output is a draft for you to check.
Your content and ours
The profile text, CV and job adverts you paste stay yours. You give us permission to process them for the purpose of producing your report and keeping it in your history — nothing else. We do not sell them, publish them, or use them to train models.
The reports we generate for you are yours to use however you like, including commercially: put the rewritten About section on LinkedIn, send the cover letter, adapt any of it.
The site, the scoring method, the prompts and the report format remain ours.
Availability
We aim to keep the site up but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may take it down for maintenance, and features may change. If a paid feature is unavailable for a meaningful stretch of your subscription month, tell us and we will credit or refund that part.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of Profile Audit or of anything it produces, including a job you did not get. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here excludes liability we cannot exclude by law, including under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
Governing law
These terms are governed by South African law. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the Free State Division of the High Court, sitting at Bloemfontein. You keep any right you have to complain to the National Consumer Commission or the Information Regulator instead.
Changes
We may revise these terms. The date at the top shows the last revision. For a material change affecting paid users we email you before it takes effect. The version in force when you paid is the one that applies to that purchase.
