CV keywords for tax, payroll and financial advice roles in South Africa
Keywords South African recruiters search for in tax practitioner, payroll and financial adviser CVs: SARS processes, payroll systems and FAIS requirements.
These three fields share one thing: the recruiter is screening for compliance risk. The keywords that matter most are the ones that prove you know the rules and the submission cycle.
Tax practitioners
Say that you are a registered tax practitioner and name your recognised controlling body (SAIT, SAIPA or SAICA). Never put the practitioner number itself on a public profile. Then name the tax types: corporate income tax, provisional tax, VAT, PAYE, transfer pricing. Results in disputes are strong evidence: an objection won or penalties remitted, with the amount.
Payroll
Payroll recruiters read the employee count first. Put it in the headline. Then the system, because most payroll roles require a specific one, and the submission cycle you own end to end.
Financial advisers
FAIS compliance is the screening layer: fit and proper status, the regulatory exams and your product accreditations. Name the RE5 (and RE1 if you are a key individual) and the classes of business you are accredited for. The RE5 guide explains the exams and fees.
