IITPSA registration: Professional Member (PMIITPSA) and 2026/27 fees
The Institute of IT Professionals South Africa's SAQA-registered designations: who qualifies for PMIITPSA, the interview, CPD and the fees for April 2026 to February 2027.
ICT has no statutory council in South Africa, so most IT CVs rely on vendor certifications. The Institute of IT Professionals South Africa (IITPSA) is the exception: its professional designations are registered with SAQA, and Professional Member (PMIITPSA) and Professional CIO (Pr.CIO) give IT managers and senior practitioners a professional credential that sits alongside their certifications.
Who qualifies for PMIITPSA
- A relevant bachelor's degree, BTech or National (Higher) Diploma. Other qualifications and RPL can be considered.
- With a bachelor's degree, at least 99 months of relevant ICT experience. Honours, master's and doctoral degrees reduce the experience required.
- Responsibility broadly at SFIA level 5.
The steps
- Complete a SFIA self-assessment.
- Apply online with your qualifications and experience record.
- Attend an interview with at least two IITPSA peer members, who test your breadth of ICT knowledge.
- Keep up 72 CPD units every three years. IITPSA audits CPD at random.
