ISACA CISM in South Africa: cost and route

The ISACA CISM certification for information security managers: exam fees, application fee and how the process works.

ISACA's Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) is aimed at people who run security programmes rather than operate the tools. ISACA has an active South Africa chapter, and CISA, its audit counterpart, is common in internal audit and IT audit roles.

Steps

  1. Register for the exam on isaca.org (members pay less).
  2. Pass the exam, then apply for certification within the allowed window, showing the required information security management experience.
  3. Pay the application processing fee.
  4. Keep up ISACA's continuing professional education policy and annual maintenance.
